Here's something I did for Lucasfilm's art contest. The theme was "Man vs. Nature." The image was inspired from a childhood memory involving a colossal tree that my family would visit on Sundays. There was this neighborhood close to downtown that had a tree growing out of the middle of the street. And since it was downtown, the streets were narrow, and cars were parked along each side, and the space leftover to drive through was barely enough for the width of one car. And yet, such an obstacle as this had no signs, no warnings, and nothing that really said caution. So it didn't seem imposing, even though it was. It was a natural growth within an urban grid. And I found that pretty interesting. So here's my take on man versus nature in regards to growth, geometry, and spontaneity.
